bursting

Make me pick one person out of everyone I know who I'd most like to hang out with - the one I have the most fun with, I laugh the most with, who makes the night out one for the best night ever list?
It's him every time. Every time.

Take a date night. (Huge fan of date night.)
I even left the BABY overnight for the first time, ever. And I realized, upon seeing my friend's son - the same age as Axel - just how not-a-baby my baby actually is. He's been running for over half his life now, and he's talking in full sentences (Go away bug! Here ya go, Mommy. Yuv you, Mommy. Do it self. Ax-o do it.)
And Daddy's favorite?
Paddo KAH-noo. Wahwah. (anyone got that one? here's a hint.)
Oh, and look. Someone lost a fight with a lug nut. (ouch.)
One last thing? The scary chocolate cake was a hit. And the birthday boy -- after starting his day with bacon and cake, proceeded to spend his day of honor in his undies and crown (which he decided was a scary crown, because it had 'spikes'). A blueprint for the perfect birthday, if I do say so myself.
It's so easy to find the gifts this Tuesday. My weekend was bursting with them.

Gorgeous! Happiness is oozing from every photo (well, maybe not the lug nut one).
Date nights rock, we are in dire need of one here.
So glad you guys got away for a night! How magnificent that must have been :)
And awesome job on the scary cake...
Such beautiful gifts today.
Ohmigosh! That poor little forehead!
Date nights are lovely reminders that we actually still LIKE our spouses!
You are such a cute couple! My hubby is my fave person to be with too.
Happy birthday to Eli. That cake looks awesome.
This is just plain awesome. Except that forehead bruise. It just hurts to look at it!
I'd pick my husband over any other person any day. He is my favorite as well.
I love date nights as well. Sigh.
I pick my husband every time too... we are blessed! :) I love how you said your weekend was bursting with gifts. That's awesome!
Oh my goodness, I love your photographs, you sweet thing you. Is it wrong that I smiled the widest at the picture of the lug nut battle? Because I love that you know that I know that we both know all about this boy thing. And lug nuts. And mysterious scratches that appear from thin air...
Those photographs are heartwarmingly beautiful.
We are having our first overnight date night this Saturday. {Yes, EJ is only ten months, but I have milk on the rocks for him, and a loving grandma who is ready to take on baby snuggles at 2 a.m.}
I'm nervous to leave the baby, but I'm really excited to spend one-on-one time with my hubby. Because I feel the same way about mine. Glad you had such a nice weekend. :)
oh, i like your blog. i'm so glad you wrote on mine so i could find you. mind if i follow? you bless.
I feel the same way about my favorite man! I would rather spend time with him than anyone else.
Your post title made me smile. My husband likes to say that he is "fairly burstin'" when he's very happy. The little birthday boy episode would definitely rate as "fairly burstin'" material around this place.
You unwrapped a great one!
WOW I adore those photos--awesome lighting, great subjects. :) And I love that you love your hubby. Bravo for date nights!!!
I so love your photos.
Steph
