on age [and growing up]

>> Thursday, September 3, 2009

“I wish you could go straight to whatever age you wanted to be and then stay there,” he tells me the day before his birthday.

What age would you want to stay?

“6.”

But how would you know which age you would want to be if you haven’t been all of the ages yet?

“I’d try all of them first.”

You do get to try all of them.

“Yeah, but then you can’t go back.”

No, Buddy. You can’t.

Would I go back if I could or fast forward? And to what age? Hmmm... Of course, I haven't tried them all yet so I'm in his same predicament.

Ahh, I've found my sister blog. The funny, the scary, and the beautiful in mothering boys. I will be back.

ha! Ser -- I have a friend with three boys each 6 months older than mine. I like to look to her to see what's coming, and I'd be honored to air the sneak peek of life with 3 boys for you. ;)
