About

I am a mother to three exceptionally rambunctious little boys and wife to one very patient one. We have a very large dog named Wilson.
I strive to live intentionally and parent mindfully, to let each minute last sixty seconds no matter the mayhem swirling around me. And I yell way more than I'd like to admit.
I am a science writer and researcher professionally, but my passion is writing fiction, poetry, and nonfiction (usually disguised in cryptic metaphor). I am a huge proponent of free-writing, and I do it often.
Trail running and piano playing are my hobbies, therapies, emotional outlets and stress relievers. I run barefoot-style, and I love it. My piano brings me more happiness and fulfillment than I ever would have imagined. I also sing very loudly in the car and the shower, and I regularly break into dance in the kitchen and even my office.
I started Clarity in the Chaos (formerly known as Boy Crazy) in 2009 as a creative outlet. I'm here a lot less than I used to be, but I'm grateful for this space and for all of you who take the time to read. Thanks for stopping by.
