It's Good, and It's Still Hot

We were sitting around the lot before the Phish show on Sunday hanging out with friends and friends of friends. A woman we just met was asking John how his Father's Day was.

As I sat in my chair across from him, drinking coffee out of our thermos, John commented that we had celebrated early with the boys, but that I had written a blog post in his honor and that it was "really, really lovely."

He then turned to me and asked sincerely, "But what I want to know is, is it still hot and is it good?"

"It's great," I answered happily. "Do you want some?"

"Wow," said the woman we had just met, as she sat up a little straighter in her chair.

She watched as I reached out my arm and offered John the thermos of good, hot coffee he had brewed earlier that day.

"Ah. Coffee..." she said, relieved. "I thought you were talking about something else...."
